And about the history of Christian music, like everything else in this world, it's probably not what it appears to be. I've learned things about some of the great composers that I wish I never had, such as who and what they were connected with. But we'll see.

Choir is a whole LOT of work, every week, 2-hour rehearsals during the week, learning new music (or relearning things we've done before), practicing at home, coming in early on Sundays for final rehearsal, and then singing half a dozen pieces or so, not just anthems, and staying up there the whole service the last Sunday of the month. I'm not much good at memorizing any more, so I sight-sing with what's left of my sight.

And I very much miss it. I have been listening to some of the anthems posted here. We're scheduled to resume September 15th, having already had two rehearsals, one on a Saturday, choir bells, and orchestra.

Screens aren't scheduled that far out, so I don't know what my first Sunday back in choir will be. Given the upcoming election, if we have one, and the insanity of our rulers, I don't know nothin' for sure.
