I don’t know very much about this arrangement, other than that it was a lovely one to sing. The lyrics are from a traditional hymn, Chief of Sinners, and the music is that of the Bread of Heaven choral arrangement by David Ashley White, which can be found here.
This was the first time in the two years I have been with this choir that we divided the sections this way, women on the left and men on the right, S-A-B-T, but there was something about the chord structure that made that work better with this small choir — where did everybody go?
The arrangement was for organ, but our organist came down with something and couldn’t be there, and then so did our choir director, the day before. So we did it without them. No problem for this bunch.

I would have posted this anthem Monday, but something strange happened to the Substack draft and the video became invisible. Today I tried creating a new post, copying the text (but not the video) over from the original one. I then uploaded the video to the new draft and it worked. Whatever it takes, I guess.
This is another beautiful song and lyrics that gave me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing.
